Coventry Reconciliation 2015

The Reconciliation Project – June - November 2015

The Reconciliation Project is aimed at a longterm artistic collaboration between Teatr Biuro Podróży and Imagineer Productions in Coventry. Its main idea was to create an openair theatre performance based on „The Winter`s Tale” by William Shakespeare. The performance was an original adaptation of story of  the relationship and conflict between Leontes and Hermione. Shakespeare`s lines were converted into spectacular images. The performance was presented in different locations in the central Coventry, with its final scene in the Coventry Cathedral.


"The Winter`s Tale - Leontes Jealousy" premiered on the 7th of August 2015 in Coventry.
The final performance cast was: Marta Strzałko, Emily Brooks, Aizah Khan, John Cattell, Bruce Tetlow, Łukasz Kowalski, Charles Craggs, Josh Patel, Joe Mckeown, Jarosław Siejkowski, Bartosz Borowski, Tomasz Wrzalik.

It was directed by Paweł Szkotak.

The production of the performance was preceded by a series of workshops with British actors.

 

The second stage of The Reconciliation Project was the presentation of „Carmen Funebre”on the 13th of November 2015,as apart of The City Peace and Reconciliation Commemorations initiated by Coventry City Council and Coventry Cathedral to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the end of WWII and 75 th Anniversary of the bombardment of Coventry.

 

The Reconciliation Project has been supported financially by Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, City of Poznań, Imagineer Productions and Coventry Cathedral.
